Little did I know when I filmed Bards Alley Bookshop that it would become the first official episode of the Book Lover Series. Since its opening in 2017, Bards Alley Bookshop in Vienna, Virginia, has been charming book lovers in the DelMarVa area.

Founded by Jennifer Morrow, a resident of Vienna, Bards Alley Bookshop’s mission is to provide a space for book lovers of all ages to share ideas, exchange personalized book recommendations, and discover new titles and authors.​ Jen named the bookshop “Bards Alley” to represent the classic and contemporary works featured among the 5,000+ titles in the bookstore. The “Bard” portion of the name is in honor of William Shakespeare, who is well known as “the Bard” and “Alley” refers to Diagon Alley in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

Bards Alley Bookshop is a very special place for me, personally. It’s where I shot the first episode of the Book Lovers Series. Oh and did I mention that there’s a lovely wine bar at the bookshop as well? Books and wine … what a lovely combination!
