This week’s episode of the Book Lovers Series features Reston Used Bookshop, one of my personal favorite bookstores in Virginia. Founded in 1978 by Sue Schram and Sue Wensell, Reston Used Bookshop now belongs to Bud and Susan Burwell who bought the bookshop in 1999.

Stacked floor-to-ceiling with used and rare books, Reston Used Bookshop has a vintage charm all of its own that I find quite endearing. I love the beautiful literary living room with comfortable chairs and sofas, perfect as reading spots for book lovers. There’s also an entire room dedicated to children’s literature.

The lakefront bookstore is located in the alluring, retro village of Lake Anne in Reston, Virginia. Once you find your favorite books, walk around the village, enjoy the gorgeous lake sceneries, and stop by a local coffee shop for a cup of latte and a sandwich. You’ll have a terrific time, I promise!
