Blue Bicycle Books in Charleston, South Carolina

There’s a handful of cities in the U.S. that are so unique and historic that I would wholeheartedly recommend everyone to visit. One of those special places is Charleston, South Carolina. Not only does Charleston fit the above descriptions, it also has delicious local cuisine and lovely indie bookshops, such as Blue Bicycle Books featured in this episode of the Book Lovers Series.

Blue Bicycle Books, Charleston, South Carolina

Opened in 1995 as Boomer’s Books by Lee and Jim Breeden, the bookstore became Blue Bicycle Books in 2007 when local writer and longtime employee Jonathan Sanchez bought the store.

In addition to being a much loved bookshop of Charleston, Blue Bicycle Books is also the New York Times-reporting event space for talks and book signings for 200+ authors each year.

I arrived at Blue Bicycle Books late in the afternoon with just under 30 minutes to film the bookshop for the Book Lovers Series. Luckily, I was able to finish filming before the bookstore closed. Hope you’ll enjoy this latest episode of the Book Lovers Series starring Blue Bicycle Books!
