On my annual road trip to New England this past fall, I made an appointment ahead of time to visit the Northshire Bookstore in Vermont. The owner was kind enough to let me film the bookshop for The Book Lover Series. With my small Fujifilm X-T2 camera in hand, I took my time documenting the beautiful bookshop, trying my best to be as unobtrusive as possible.
I’ve been to Northshire Bookstore a few times before and yet I was still blown away as I walked through the door. For a small New England town, this bookshop is Disney Land for book lovers with multiple levels filled with books and unique gifts for us to get lost in.
Founded in 1976 by Ed & Barbara Morrow, the Northshire Bookstore was originally located in a small building on Main Street. Then in 1985, the bookshop moved across the street to its current location at the historic Colburn House, once operating as a stagecoach inn and restaurant. In 2013, a second location of Northshire Bookstore opened in Saratoga, New York, another walkable town full of avid readers.

The bookshop featured in the Book Lovers Series is the original Northshire Bookstore in Manchester Center. With over 10,000 SF of space, I filmed and browsed for hours without getting bored. Each time I visit Northshire, I spent hours upon hours in the bookshop, not wanting to leave. There’s also a cafe in the bookshop for a delicious lunch or a cup of steaming latte.

If you plan to visit Northshire Bookstore, make sure to set aside at least a few hours … you’ll want that extra time. I promise!
It was a pleasure filming and photographing this beautiful, vibrant bookshop. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Thank you Northshire for having me!
